Peyton, the double digit girl!

Peyton turned 10 months old today! I cannot believe she is already in her double digits! She is such a little sweetie. I am so thankful to have her in our lives. I really can't even imagine it without her! This video is nothing spectacular, but it's real cute. She LOVES swinging in the back yard. She would do it all day if I let her. It's ironic too, because she HATED her infant swing and really only went in it like 5 times. She smiles constantly while on it. She has a new word that she says. You can hear her say it in the video. She says "YEAH" whenever she does something that makes her happy. She's a doll! (Sorry, I'm bragging huh?!) :)

Father's Day (Belated)

On Father's Day, last month, we were traveling to California. Then, when we got back, we had company for three weeks and then my surgery. So yesterday we finally celebrated Father's Day for Scott. It was such a great day! In the morning we made him waffles and gave him his gifts. After church we made him Pepperoni pizza and took a half hour nap. (any little bit helps)Then for dinner I made him his favorite chicken flautas and rice, beans and 7 layer bean dip. Then we played with the girls outside and jumped on the trampoline. We sat under the gazebo outside while it poured rain and we experienced some awesome thunder and lightening. I made him his favorite brownies for dessert and we cuddled on the couch and watched Cinderella Man. (One of our favorite movies) It was just an awesome day! He is the BEST daddy ever so I hope his day was special. We ADORE him!!!!

Pioneer Day Parade

Today was the annual neighborhood Pioneer Day parade. It's a cute little tradition they have here where you decorate yourself and bikes and things in red white and blue and walk around our block as many times as you like. Luckily, they decided to do it a couple days later so all the dad's could be there too. Hooray for that! Scott and I pulled Shayla and Peyton in the wagon and Kaleigh rode her bike. It was a lot of fun and the girls looked absolutely ADORABLE!!!

Update (I have to vent)

As you have probably previously read, I had my wisdom teeth removed a week ago. All went smooth and great... until day 5. Needless to say, the last couple days have been hell! My mom told me I've got to write this down, so I will. Enjoy the ride while I vent! Our oven broke on Tuesday so Wednesday we had an appliance guy come to fix it. Well, the ignitor died so it cost us $250 to fix it. Then, we had a plumber come because of the flooding in the dowstairs guest room. Long story short, $600 for that. No problemo cause we're made of money,right? NO! Then, that night at midnight I developed the dreaded "dry socket" in my right wisdom-toothless crater. Now if any of you don't know what that wonderful thing feels like, well, imagine child birth in your mouth. It SUCKS!!! I had no more pain meds either cause I figured I'd just "tough it out". Brilliant! So we called Suzie to ask her advice since she's a dental assistant. She confirmed the likely hood of dry socket and headed over with her sweet mom to bring me some much needed LorTab...at midnight! Bless their hearts! She checked my mouth and sure enough...she could see all the way to the bone. Yikes! Wouldn't you know that the next morning was Pioneer Day?! Which for most of the world means nothing. But in Utah that means everyone is off work. Including my Oral Surgeon! Scott had to work of coarse. Grrr. So that next morning I head to Suzie's dental office and she packs this crap in the socket and it hurt like hell. But she fixed it! Yeah, what a doll! So home I go to take it easy. Or so I thought. Not even 2 hours later I lost the blood clot on the left side, creating dry socket on the left! You've got to be kidding! There I am alone with 3 kids and in tremendous pain. I swear if I owned a gun, I would have shot myself! So again I call Suzie. She heads over and tries to pack the left side. (Again, hurts like hell!) She couldn't get it because of the stitches I have from the surgery. So we load up and head to her office again. (It's not exactly close either). She packs it and whala...all better! Hardly any more pain. Just soreness and a disgusting constant taste in my mouth. She is my hero!!!!! I get home and just as the doorbell rings (it's the UPS guy bringing my valances that I REALLY want up) Shayla barfs all over the dining room table and floor! Seriously! So I grab Peyton before she crawls in it and lock her and Kaleigh in another room while I spent the next hour cleaning, scrubbing, mopping and bathing a child. Nice, eh? So if anyone could tell me where to find that famous money tree, and sanity, I would appreciate it! Thanks... :)

Everyone needs a Suzie!

Well, I know Suzie is going to KILL me when she sees her tiger pose on my blog, but I don't care. I think it's HOT! I feel overwhelmed with gratitude right now so I have to post. Let me give you some background on this extraordinary friendship. Suzie and I are only 1 day apart and have honestly been best friends our whole lives! Our friendship has endured some tough storms. Case in point...when her family moved from California to Utah. That didn't stop us though! We have remained BFF for over 27 years! I can honestly say that Suzie knows me better than anyone. She is way more than a best friend to me. She is a sister! Only better because we don't fight. :) She has been there right by my side through good times and bad. I really don't think I could live without her! She is the kindest and sweetest person I know. If everyone had a "Suzie", this world would be a much happier place. I am so thankful for her friendship, support and love. She is priceless!!!

No longer wise

Friday morning I had my wisdom teeth ripped out of my skull. Fun, huh?! To make it that much more fun, they were both fused to the bone. All went well. I apparently told the doctor he was "HOT" 3 times while heavily sedated. Scott got a huge kick out of that. I, on the other hand, was MORTIFIED when Scott told me. Thank goodness I never have to see that doctor again! The first few hours after the surgery were nasty. Scott took wonderful care of me and Kaleigh and Shayla were so cute. They were really concerned about me and wouldn't leave my side. I, still, have had NO swelling and I was up and about my business that night. I even went grocery shopping the next day. Besides discomfort and starvation (I still can't eat hardly anything) I am doing great. Besides, I'm a Griffin...I'm tough! (Just not wise anymore)

Kid Barn

Sarah, Julianne, Suzie, the girls and I went to this place out here called "The Kid Barn". The girls and I go there often and LOVE it so we decided to share the joy. We all had so much fun! It's basically a huge warehouse full of giant inflatable slides, mazes and jumpers. We had a blast practically breaking our necks and goofing around. Peyton went on a slide for the first time and loved it. Us "Big Girls'" couldn't resist acting like complete morons in front of the giant fans and the best part...Peyton drove us home! (Well, she tried anyway)

Girls Just Want To Have Fun!

Today the girls had a pool party with a few friends from the neighborhood. They had so much fun. It was a junk food fest too! They had endless strawberry lemonade, homemade chocolate chip cookies and Popsicles. Yikes! It was such an estrogen fest that I couldn't help but laugh. They were all dancing around to their Princess CD and singing Hannah Montana. I LOVE HAVING GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the Place!!!

Today Sarah, the girls and I went to "This Is The Place" Monument Park for a picnic and some fun. This is a perfect example of why I LOVE living in Utah. Having these kinds of things so close to my house for my kids to enjoy is priceless! We rode the train, pet baby goats and cows, rode horses, played in mini homes and toured historic pioneer houses and buildings. The view of the valley is breath taking! It is so neat to go there and read of the amazing stories of the pioneers and their sacrifices. It was an awesome day! I agree with Brigham Young, and quote..."This is the place, drive on."

Sinner dinner

On Sunday night we met up with Danny, Megan and Axton for dinner at a restaurant called Wingers. Yes, we are sinners for breaking the Sabbath, but there are worse things in life my friend. :) It was a lot of fun and I am happy to report that Axton is still gorgeous! Peyton loved him and I couldn't resist getting a size comparison picture. They are 7 months apart. We loved hanging out!

Saturday we went to a Luau at our friends house. It was so much fun! We swam, ate some delicious Hawaiian food from a place called Moki's, did limbo and then swam some more. The highlight of the night was when I decided to pour ice water on Brent's head and as a result he picked me up and tossed me into the pool, fully clothed! The reason it was so fun was because almost everyone jumped in to join me in a fully-clothed swim! We did cannon bombs and chicken fights. It was ruthless! While we were swimming, Peyton found a plate of cake and went to town! She had it all over her face and hands and she couldn't have been happier. It was so cute! Scott was in good company with his newly-bald melon because our friends Brent and Phil also shaved their heads in support of my dad. How sweet is that?!!! They looked awesome too! We had an amazing time!!!
