Although there were some fun times in 2009, all in all it was a hard year. For both Scott and I. Losing Mike was, and has been, WAY harder than I could have ever imagined. I have learned that losing someone that close to you isn't something you can just "get over". It takes time. A LOT of time. I know that my healing has only just begun. I want to say that I am excited for 2010 and that I know it will be a good year. But I don't. I'm skeptical. You see, my family has suffered 7 deaths in our family in the last 6 years. 5 of them have been in the last 3 years. 1 of them was EXTREMELY untimely and painful. In addition to that, there is a battle going on that we haven't asked for. Lies are being said about our family and our Corey is being kept from us. It's hard. REALLY hard. All I can say is that I am MORE than ready to put 2009 behind me. I am going into 2010 hopeful, guarded, stronger and wiser. I will do all in my power to make 2010 the best it can be. So far the future is bright with a new nephew coming in March and a wedding in May. Hallelujah and fingers crossed! Happy (belated) New Year everyone!

A Year in Review, 2009

A Day Off Does A Body GOOD!
MLK day on Monday was great! We had a very fun family day. Scott even stayed home to be with us! First we went out to lunch.
It was a wonderful day! I LOVE my little family and spending quality time with them. Thanks MLK! ;)

Camp Out! (kinda)
Suzie is seriously RAD! I don't even have to ask if she'll babysit. She asks ME if she can! It had been a long time since she watched the kids so they were SUPER excited last night when she did. They had a blast with her, as usual. She spoiled them, as usual, and when Scott and I got home from our date at 2am, this is what we found. Suzie had a "camp out" in the family room. The girls were SO excited to get to officially use their sleeping bags that Grandpa and Grandma Biehn got them for Christmas. And how sweet is Suzie for sleeping on the floor with them?! The girls LOVED it and talked about it all day.
Turns out Aunt Sarah also joined them through the night. I wish I had known so I could have taken a picture of that. Imagine the girls excitement when they woke up to Aunt Suzie on one side, and Aunt Sarah on the other. They are such lucky girls to have such wonderful and loving Aunts!!!
Today I am thankful for....
My best friend! My daughters, who are best friends,
Today, I am thankful for these things.
#2!!!
Yeah for Kaleigh!!! At almost 8 years old, she has FINALLY lost tooth #2 and couldn't be happier about it.
Poor Shay
So I went to pick Shayla up from preschool on Monday and her teacher approached my car right away to tell me that Shayla somehow got hurt while there. Apparently they were acting out "Rapunzel" and the teacher went to quickly pull the dress up over Shay's head and Shay immediately grabbed her neck and complained of pain. I didn't think much of it, initially, but soon realized that something wasn't right. She was crying and REALLY irritable. Long story short, I had to take her into the ER. This is how she held her head....(it looked SO uncomfortable!) Here she is in the room. :(
They found that her neck partially dislocated when the dress was pulled off her, which caused a severe muscle spasm. They re-set it, gave her lots of meds and sent her home. It was really scary! I am just so thankful that it was nothing worse and she is a-OK now! My poor baby.

California, part 1
In the wee hours of December the 23rd, we left snowy Utah and headed for sunny California for Christmas. Sarah was up visiting Kyle so she headed back with us as well. The car was packed to capacity and the drive went well. There was a lot of this... And that....(yes that's Lloyd, our guinea pig, in the cage. I couldn't bear to leave him)
(Stay tuned for Californai, part 2....)
