California, part 2

DisneyLand!!!!
Gotta love the Teacups!

And Pirates of the Caribbean.Us at Tarzan's Tree house.

The whole trip was a blast. We loved every minute. The girls were in heaven!

On the 29th we went for a visit at Grandpa Biehn and Dorothy's. We had a really nice time and, of coarse, had ice-cream. (Dorothy's favorite) Our girls LOVE Dorothy. Especially Peyton.

It's always cute to watch Scott have conversations with his Grandpa. He just loves him! (I pray Scott is doing that good at 92!)

The girls love their Great Grandpa Biehn! I'm pretty sure he loves them too. :)

The girls love playing dress-up. Especially in Aunt Sarah's old clothes.

On the 30th Scott took me to Knott's Berry Farm for my birthday celebration. The morning started off good. We had fun playing dress-up in all the Western stores. Scott found this fabulous hat!And just like old times, I had to have a funnel cake. Yum!

And then the day quickly went bad. The clouds moved in and it got cold, for California. And then it started to POUR rain! We toughed it out for a couple hours until they shut down almost every roller coaster. We decided to leave the park and go to the Chicken Dinner Restaurant for a late lunch/early dinner as planned. Too bad everyone else had the same idea! We stood outside in the cold rain for 2 1/2 HOURS in line!!!! This picture is only half the line. It wrapped around the entire building. That's Scott under our umbrella on the bottom right. :(

We were NOT happy campers! Our whole day seemed to be going bad. Everyone around us re-assured us that the wait was worth it so we trusted them and stayed in line.

And after 2 1/2 hours......VOILA! Now anyone that knows me knows that I LOVE me some fried chicken. We had always been told that this place had the BEST. AND THEY DO! Geez. It was amazing. WAY too much food though. All this food was just mine. It consisted of HALF a chicken, fried, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, salad, homemade soup and a slice of apple pie. Ugh!

By the time we left there we were so full we wanted to barf. The rain had stopped so we did what any smart couple would do. WE HIT THE BIG ROLLER COASTERS! Somehow it made us feel better. From that point on the night was PERFECT!

We had such a blast just being alone. We felt like teenagers all over again. I love Scott and the effort he put into making my birthday celebration fun. He succeeded! I'm so thankful to Sarah and Mom for watching the girls all day for us. I knew they were in good hands and sure enough, the girls had a blast!

The next day was my actual birthday, the 31st. As usual, it started with dress-up. :)

And Peyton doing Grandma's hair...

Here's something I really miss about California...the beautiful palm trees! I took lots of pictures.

That night we all went to Claim Jumper for dinner. Kaleigh was so sweet and pulled the waitress aside and asked her to bring me a cupcake right away and sing to me. So they did! :)

Dinner was delicious and we had a really good time. :)

I LOVE my parents to death! They really are the best. Here they are with their 29 year old "baby". I'm so grateful to have them in my life.

And it wouldn't be complete without my precious little Nana there! I love her to pieces. Seriously.

After dinner we took a drive down the coast. It was the perfect way to end my birthday. I love the light of the moon against the palm trees....

We stood out on the pier and watched the waves crashing. Huntington Beach holds a special place in our hearts. It's where we grew up going, had our first date, where Scott proposed and where we were all the time before we moved. It will always be "home"!

On the 1st we all went to Grandma Dotty and Pockey's for lunch and to just hang out. Mom brought bubble packs for all the girls and they loved them! I love this picture of Kaleigh. Thanks for the bubble packs, Grandma!

Peyton liked to play with the wands more than anything.

And she loved playing underneath the orange tree.

Here's Shayla, Ava, Kaleigh and Maddie after they found a giant earth worm. Yuck!

I love my sisters!!!! They are so much fun. And gorgeous too! ;)

And we love our Nana!!!

And here we are again with Mama and Aunt Debbie. I LOVE them both!!!

Grandma spoiled the girls and gave them a huge plate of chips. They were in heaven! (as you can tell)

The girls loved playing outside. They spent many hours picking Mom and Dad's flowers and pruning their bushes. LOL. They especailly loved the cat tails!

Danny flew in for a few days and took some time out to play Jenga with the girls. He also taught them some mad fighting skills. :)

The next day, the 2nd, we headed home. We had a great trip and enjoyed all the family time we got. We sure do miss having all our family around! :(
