I just heard terrible news that hurts my heart. A family member has lost their twins. I don't want to go into too much detail at this time, but I can't help but feel so grateful for my good fortune. My heart goes out to those of you who have suffered the loss of a child. I have so many friends and family that have dealt with miscarriages and I also know many who are unable to have kids. Unfortunately I also know a few who have lost a child later in life. I can't even begin to imagine how much that loss must hurt, and I won't even try. I just want you all to know that I admire you! I have been very blessed thus far and I thank my Heavenly Father for that. In this time of sorrow for family members, I have felt a huge need to pause and thank my Father in Heaven for the blessings I call my girls. We should never take our healthy children for granted! That's all.

The First Snowfall
We had our first real snowfall right before Halloween and boy was it pretty! Looking at these pictures now makes me laugh cause it seems like NOTHING compared to what we have now. The girls were ECSTATIC and couldn't wait to go out and play in it. Peyton is like me and preferred to enjoy the beauty from inside the warm house. :) Here's part of the backyard... And the snowball fights begin!
We LOVE living in a place with 4 seasons! Life is so fun.

I Heart Sidewalk Chalk!
I was out with a friend one evening and returned to find this work of art on my driveway. Apparently the girls wanted to draw themselves with Scott....as mermaids! That's nothing new, trust me, but I cracked up seeing Scott as one. That was a first. He was kind of embarrassed but let them keep it there for days anyways. He's such a good Dad. It was adorable! Check out my hunky MERMAN!!! LOL
Sidewalk chalk ROCKS! ;)
A Visit from Dad and Mom Biehn
Back in early October Scott's parents were able to come and stay with us for 4 days. We had a great time and really enjoyed their company. We were able to spend quality time together and also got some Christmas shopping done! Here are some highlights from the stay...
*Peyton and Grandpa* *Grandma and the Girls*
We love Dad and Mom Biehn and loved having them here. It's amazing how quickly the time passes. We appreciate the time they take to come see us. We also appreciate their love and wisdom. We can't wait till next time!

Another Haircut...
Back in early October (yes, I'm WAY behind on blogging) Shayla decided she wanted to get her hair cut. I was sad because I loved her long hair, but knew I had to let her make that decision for herself. Here it was before... She was very excited!
She's such a cutie and I think the cut actually fits her better! Great choice Shay. :)

It's GREAT to be 6!!!
On September 25th Shayla turned 6! She requested homemade cinnamon rolls and chocolate milk for breakfast...
Shayla had a fabulous 6th Birthday! Thanks to all those who sent gifts, cards and called to make it extra special. Now if only I could stop her from growing up...
