Our Father's Day

Our Father's Day was simple and nice. We started the day off by giving Scott his gifts, which he loved...(shirt, shorts, shoes, cologne, sunglasses and a watch) Then we headed to church. Here's Daddy with his three little Princesses...

When we got home, they relaxed and hung out. I slaved away in the kitchen. lol. Then we had dinner. Scott requested my carnitas tacos, mexican rice and black beans.
It turned out fabulous! He was very pleased.
Then we had dessert. I made a triple chocolate bundt cake and homemade vanilla ice-cream.

I am very thankful for the opportunity we have to get a day set aside once a year to celebrate the amazing men in our lives. They deserve it! Scott is an amazing dad and works so hard for our family. He works 13 hours a day, every single day, and only gets paid for 8 but never has complained once. He is a work horse and although it's tiring on both of us and I miss him, I can't complain. He's the best husband and daddy for doing this all for us!!!

Happy Father's Day!

Father's Day is special to me for two reasons. First, my own Dad! Dad, I can't even begin to tell you how grateful I am to be your daughter. You bring such happiness and pride to my life. You have always been such an example of compassion, hard work, kindness and love to me. Growing up I never felt that I couldn't tell you things. You always made me feel comfortable, even if we disagreed. Thank you for always being my rock! As a teenager I considered myself a "daddy's girl" and at 28, nothing has changed. You own a very special and huge place in my heart. Thank you for giving me life. Thank you for having patience. Thank you for forgiving me. Thank you for loving me unconditionally and most of all, THANK YOU FOR BEING THE BEST DAD A GIRL COULD ASK FOR!!! Happy Father's Day Dad, I love you!!!!

*And at 2 months old*

*Here we are when I was 16*
*And us in Park City in 2007*

The other reason Father's Day is so special is because of this stud! Scott, growing up I had a fantasy of what I imagined my future husband would be like. Often times I was told I was unrealistic. You have proved that dreams do come true! You have far surpassed my hopes and fantasies. I don't know what I did to deserve you, but I sure am thankful that our Heavenly Father placed you in my life. When we were dating and first married I thought that you were the best that you'd ever be and I was soooo happy with that. All that changed on March 27, 2002. The minute I saw them place Kaleigh in your arms I knew that my amazement with you had just THEN begun. And on September 25, 2004 I again watched as this perfect man became even better as you held baby Shayla. I thought there was no way you could possibly make me love you any more and then Peyton arrived on September 29, 2007. Words cannot express how beautiful it has been to watch you love our 3 little girls. You are perfect and I wouldn't change a single thing about you if I could. Thank you for playing with and loving our daughters. My biggest hope in life is that our daughters will marry men at least half as good as you! I love you babe. Happy Father's Day!!!

***And a Happy Father's Day to my adorable brothers, Mike and Danny, who are also AMAZING men and Daddy's! I love you guys with all my heart!!! I am so lucky to have these incredible guys in my life.

Random

Here are some random pics I wanted to share. Peyton's newest favorite past time? Her Victorian dollhouse. She will seriously sit and play with that thing for an hour.I love this shot because I think she has the cutest profile! The girls wanted to get Peyton dressed this particular morning. They even changed her diaper! They did a great job, besides dressing her in winter clothes during summer. lol
This shot cracks me up! This is Peyton's first time wearing overalls and a hat. So cute!
One of the many things I love about this weather...eating outside! It's so nice.
Kaleigh and Shayla have become really creative with their Lego's.
I also LOVE all the cute pictures they draw for us. Thank you Grandpa and Grandma Griffin for the AWESOME chalk/paint board.
Peyton has developed a love for our family rocking horse.
I was at the store and the manager thought the girls were so cute that she gave them these GIANT balloons. They were hilarious!

This should've been in the post below, but these are the flowers Scott had done for me for our Anniversary. Aren't they gorgeous? They are my favorite! Thanks baby!!!

9 YEARS!!!

June 17th was a special day for us. Not only was it our 10 1/2 year DATING anniversary, but it was our 9 year WEDDING anniversary. Our minds were flooded that day with GREAT memories. What a BEAUTIFUL day that was! Here we were as NEWLYWEDS... The BIG 9!!!

Scott is still 100% the same.
Being together for as long as we have now we have been through A LOT together. Some great, and some horrible. I couldn't have picked a better man to be at my side through everything with.
We celebrated by going to our favorite restaurant, Goodwood, and then to the movies to see 2 different flicks. (we squeeze 'em in when we get the chance) I happened to have a really horribly emotional day (with the circumstances of my beloved brother), so I was relieved when Scott got home from work. He sat in the car at the restaurant with me while I bawled my eyes out for an hour and just let me vent. I felt bad for feeling that way on our special day, but he totally understood and made things a lot better that night. It was a huge reminder to me of the amazing man I married and how much I NEED him!!!

I couldn't have been happier these past 9 years and look forward to many more!

Farewell to 1st!

Friday the 12th was Kaleigh's last day as a first grader! She was so excited, but I was more!!! She did a great job in school and learned and matured a ton. We are so proud of our big girl!

For some reason her hair has grown a ton this school year!
Here she is with her teacher, Mrs. Downs. Kaleigh loved her!
Here she is after school with her yearbook and report card. She received Honors in all but one subject. The other subject was a B+. Great job sweetie!
To celebrate her success in 1st and Shayla's in preschool (Shayla's graduation was the day of Mike's funeral so we weren't able to attend. Her teacher said Shay is the smartest 4 year old she's ever known)we went to Chili's for dinner and took the girls to see Night at the Museum 2. It was a hectic night, but fun nonetheless. I LOVE the way Peyton is looking at Kaleigh in this picture!
We are so proud of our little Shayla too!

We decided to pull Kaleigh out of the Charter school she has been attending and enroll her in the regular school down the street. We look forward to what lies ahead. Kaleigh is so excited to be on the "track system" and is stoked that she doesn't have to wear ugly uniforms anymore. Yeah! We can't believe we officially have a 2nd grader now. My how time flies!!!

And that's a wrap!

Today was Shayla's last soccer game. We were very proud of her progression throughout the season. She's an aggressive little thing! She was SO excited to get this trophy! It was adorable. She loved her coach and making goals. She did very well. We loved cheering her on this season!

Kaleigh and Peyton found their own ways to stay entertained for that hour. They usually went on nature walks. So cute!
Here's Shayla giving her coach a hug. She had a great season with the "Lions".

Dance Recital 2009

A couple of weeks ago we had the girls' Spring Dance Recital. It was outdoors (i am foreshadowing). There was some sort of air show going on nearby with a jet and 4 fighter-jets following it. It was awesome, but very distracting and loud!

Shayla looked adorable in her polka-dot outfit! Kaleigh looked like a pretty princess in hers!
And Peyton looked adorable just watching. She was dancing the whole time!
Here is Kaleigh on stage.
And Shayla. During Shay's performance a HUGE storm rolled in. There was insane wind, thunder, lightening and TONS of rain! So much that they had to cancel the show. We didn't even get through half of the performances. It was NUTS!
Suzie came to watch the girls and got drenched instead. She was dripping wet! She headed out with Peyton when it first started to get bad. Thanks for your help and support Suz! :)
Here's soaking wet Scott. He was literally SOAKED from head to foot!
I was a tad bit annoyed.
We, and Suzie, got the girls pretty flowers. Shayla loved them.
And so did Kaleigh. They were troopers!

The show was cancelled and rescheduled for this past week. The weather was supposed to be pretty and sunny. It was another HUGE storm complete with hail. We got all fancied up for nothing. Again! Oh well. Better luck next year!
