"SHAYLA!!!"

One of my favorite things in the world is hearing Peyton call her sister. The other day I was yelling downstairs for Shayla to come take her laundry basket into her room. Peyton quickly took over. She is only 15 months, but quite the yeller already! Excuse her runny nose, she has a cold.

Uncle Dan Rocks!

Today was a special day at Kaleigh's school. Each 1st grader got to have a loved one come to school and read with them for a little while. Kaleigh picked my brother, Danny. He was happy to come and spend some quality time with her! They got to bring a pillow and blanket and their favorite books. She had a blast! Thanks for coming Dan...we love you!! We also got a chance to go out to lunch and eat some dee-licious Philly cheesesteaks. I loved spending some quality time with Axton too. He's a doll! Time with Danny is always fun!

Better late than never

Scott and I really wanted to make a Gingerbread House with the girls this Christmas, but got too busy. This past weekend we decided to do it anyway! Better late than never, right? Scott and I built and frosted it and the girls decorated it completely on their own. They did an excellent job and more importantly we had a BLAST doing it together!!!

Our Special Day

As I mentioned previously, yesterday was our 10 year dating anniversary. We had the best day! I surprised Scott and arranged a babysitter to come over at 10am. We left and drove way out to the Miller Motor Park in Tooele. We went cart racing! Now it sounds like nothing special but I promise...it was intense! We had to gear up in head socks, helmets, neck guards and gloves. We raced on a full on Nascar track that was huge!!!! These carts hauled butt too! They went 50 mph, which is scary when you are open to the road. We were dying laughing and having a blast! Then we left and went to lunch at Costa Vida. When we got home we snuggled under a blanket with the girls and watched The Notebook. It was awesome! We had a whole lotta fun in between, too! I love Scott and am so thankful that 10 years ago he saw something in me and asked me to officially "be his girlfriend".

Wii!!!

Well, we finally got a Wii! The girls have been wanting one for over a year now. Thanks to some Christmas gift cards and money, it only cost us half of what we would've payed. Whoo hoo! We all love playing it and look forward to actually getting good at it!

BFF

On the 5th Suzie and I celebrated our Birthdays by going out to dinner to the Cheesecake Factory. We have literally been best friends OUR WHOLE LIVES! Not too many people can say that. There has never been a time in my life that Suzie was not there. How cool is that? Here we are at our combined 5th Birthday party. So cute, right?!

And now TWENTY THREE years later! Wow!!! Come on Suz, give me a birthday kiss!

Still shy. (Yah right!) I love this girl! Happy 28 to us and many more!

Farewell to Private Griffin

January 2nd was a very emotional day. I knew that my family was leaving early the next morning, which saddened me, and my dear brother, Mike, was also flying back to Missouri to finish basic training for the Army. It's unclear when we'll get to see him again. We started off by having a great lunch with Danny, Megan and Axton at The Cracker Barrel. (Excellent food, by the way!) It was a lot of fun to see them! Then we headed to the airport to pick up Mikey. He was on a layover here between LA and SLC. We hung out for a little bit, had some fun and laughter, and then said our goodbyes. It was really hard for me. I'm crying right now just thinking about it! We will miss him. My baby brothers Danny and Mike with Scotty. Me and my siblings. We were only missing 1, my older sister Lisa who lives in Cali. Tell us how you really feel, boys.... LOL

I am super proud of Mike. He joined the Army in September, a HUGE decision! I know it was hard for him to leave family. Especially his adorable son, Corey who is only 2. I know that he made the right decision. He is already such a better man for doing it. You can see a dramatic change in him, for the better. I am grateful for all the time we were able to spend with him over Christmas break. Hopefully it won't be too long before we see him again. Please remember him in your prayers!

Happy New Year!

May 2009 bring you peace and happiness....

My BDay

I had a wonderful Birthday! We went out to lunch with the family (awesome that they were here in town) and then Scott took me shopping and out to dinner. We went to my favorite place, The Garden in Salt Lake. It was delicious! When we got home I opened my gifts from everyone, had cake and ice cream and wrung in the New Year. It was a great day! Thanks to all who made it special. I love you!

Farewell Kleinfelder

As many of you know, Scott just switched jobs. He worked for Kleinfelder for over 8 years. He started at the VERY bottom of the bucket picking up cylinders from jobs for only $12/hr. He made a goal to do everything possible to work his way up the "food chain". He went back to school to get his degree, (even though he was working full-time and had a wife and 2 kids at home) he went to Inspection school and got every license that he could, and he worked his HARDEST and was honest and never cut corners. It all payed off! Needless to say, he was promoted time and time again and after less than 6 years became the Salt Lake Materials Department Manager, a heavy responsibility. On December 30th he hung up his hat with Kleinfelder and started working for Kiewit on January 5th. He is now the Quality Manager, an even heavier responsibility! I am so proud of my husband and the amazing man that he is. He is so driven and motivated to be the best provider for his family that he can possibly be. He does a fantastic job, too! We have never struggled or gone without. I appreciate all that he does for us and love him to death and know that he will shine for this new company. This picture was taken the day he quit. I had a celebration dinner for him on the 30th at The Red Iguana. It was lots of fun! Congratulations on your accomplishment baby!

It was a beautiful day!!!!! This was our 1st white Christmas because although we've lived here 2 years, we always went back to Cali for the holidays. Needless to say...we are completely sold!!!! There's absolutely nothing like it.

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve Sarah and I headed outside to make a snowman but decided to make snow forts instead. It was ALOT of hard work, but well worth it!
