Life really feels complete with her. She is the sweetest and happiest baby ever! I really love her to death. She is so intelligent and bright. She constantly amazes us with how quickly she picks up on things. Peyton...you mean the world to us all and we are so thankful to have you in our family! We love you baby! Happy Birthday!!!

Our baby is 4!!!

Today, the 25th, our little Shayla is 4!!! I wish I could say, "I can't believe she's already 4", but I can't. I can't believe she's ONLY 4. She is so mature and stinking smart for her age that I feel like she should be older. Shayla has been such an amazing blessing to our family! She is a gorgeous little girl packed with personality and a gigantic heart. Her beautiful blue eyes are a weapon she has majorly learned to use to melt our hearts. She is the sweetest little daughter and the BEST sister!I honestly feel privileged to be her mommy. I love you with all my heart, sweet Shay, and hope you have the funnest Birthday ever. You really deserve it baby!!!

The Girls' New Room

A couple months ago the girls decided they wanted to "move downstairs". We finally moved them 2 1/2 weeks ago. I had been waiting to take pictures until everything was perfect but I'm beginning to think that day will NEVER come. So here it is. It turned out really cute! It's a lot more subtle than their last pink & green room. Thank goodness! Their new furniture is a lot better too. I hated the bunk beds! It's works out a lot better too because the rooms downstairs are a lot bigger so they have way more room to play. And now we have a really nice office upstairs, which I like a lot better. I am so thankful to Scott for hanging in there with me. I am a work horse when it comes to projects. I won't stop until it's done. And with 3 kids running around and needing attention, it takes a lot longer to do things than I'd like. :) We started the painting, etc. Saturday morning and were done by Sunday night. Thanks for staying up with me and helping me till 4 am each morning Scott! I love you! Enjoy your new room girls...

My Hubby, the Sports Announcer!

Sunday was a CRAZY day!!! Let me explain... NBC, aka KSL, news was doing a local contest for a Sports Announcing opportunity on their Sports Beat segment. You had to write an email nominating a sports fanatic and explain why that person should get the spot. When I heard about it I jumped at the opportunity to tell them all about Scott and his obsession with Football. Sunday at 3pm I got a call from Rod Zundel, KSL's head sports anchor, telling me that Scott had won and they wanted him on air that night!!! I couldn't believe it! He also told me that they preferred the girls and I come so they could bring us on air at the end of the segment. So we rushed to get us all ready and then headed out to a celebration dinner at Panda Express. We didn't really care it was Sunday. We were so excited and wanted to celebrate. We invited Suzie along for the ride since she is a big fan and Scott's football buddy. We had to be at the studios Downtown at 8pm. Once we got there we got to take fun pictures and tour the building and then Scott was whisked away to write his own script. That's right. HE HAD TO WRITE HIS OWN SCRIPT!!! We got to meet a couple of their lead anchors while waiting. One of them even sat and talked to the girls forever! (Pictured above) Then they put us in place and joila! There we were. The men with Scott are Rod Zundel, their Sports guy, and Hans Olson, a former BYU and Colts player. Scott did an AWESOME job and made us real proud! Kaleigh cut her fingernail in half right before we went on air and was in a lot of pain. That's what prompted her comment in the video. LOL. This video might not be the best because I recorded it from my digital camera from my Tivo. I will put a clearer version up later. It was an unforgettable experience for a man that TRULY deserved it, my hubby! Enjoy.. (Warning...the video will keep pausing. Just hang in there and don't forget to pause our music :) )

I love my man!

So I have to say.....I know this is one of those "cheesy" posts and I am sorry for that. But you know how you feel when something is stirring in you and weighing heavily on your mind and you feel like you are going to explode if you don't talk about it? That's me right now!

Lately I have been very thankful for my husband. He is so HONEST!!! He doesn't pretend to be someone he's not, nor has he ever. I have a friend who is married to a man that has COMPLETELY lied about his past and built his own fantasy world of who he wishes he was. It is heartbreaking. I can honestly say that I am confident that I know everything about Scott's past. Not only because I trust him because he's proven to be honest, but because his family (those who grew up with him) back it all up. I am so thankful that Scott loves our girls so much!!! Heaven knows he always wanted a son. The other night we were shopping and we overheard a woman near us on her phone talking about her sons football game that night. Scott looked at me and laughing said, "I'll never know what that's like. " And he was totally content with that, even though that's what he always looked forward to. What I explained to him is that just because you have a boy doesn't mean he will play football. I mean, I have 2 brothers myself who didn't play a lick of high school football! He is perfectly happy with our girls and I am thankful for that

Shayla's 1st Day Of Preshool

Monday was Shayla's 1st day of preschool. She woke up early and picked out her favorite outfit (a dress from Grandma Griffin, of coarse) and took Kaleigh to school and off she went! She was excited, until we got there. She became very clingy and didn't want me to leave. As she sat at her desk she hung her head in sorrow and cried a tear. When I went over and asked her what was wrong she said she was scared and wanted to go back home. It was heartbreaking! I knew she'd be fine though. So I left. A few hours later when I picked her up her teacher said she warmed up quickly and asked "She's quite a diva, isn't she?" I laughed and knew she became herself after all. She did great and had a blast! I missed her for those 3 hours but was very glad she was finally getting her big girl school she always wanted. Yeah Shay!!!

I Hate Goodbyes!

Sadly, Dad, Mom and Sarah left yesterday back to good old Cali. It was so much fun having them here for (almost) 2 weeks. Having them show up unexpectedly was one of the greatest surprises ever! We had such a blast with them! We went to some great places, ate some delicious food, saw some great movies (The Dark Knight TWICE. I have now seen it 4 times! LOL) had some real late nights, a TON of laughter and created some priceless memories. I am so thankful to have them as my family. I appreciate the love, concern and understanding they have for both Scott and I. Most importantly, I appreciate what kind of Grandparents they are! THEY ARE EQUAL!!! They don't favor anyone. Every grandchild of theirs gets the same amount of love and attention. They showered the girls with TLC, but yet continued to talk about and bring up Maddie, Ava, Corey and Axton DAILY! I love that! I love that they didn't try and hide the fact that they were buying gifts for all the other grand kids while shopping with me. My girls got gifts too. Plenty! The thing I appreciate the most about them is the time they dedicate to each girl. They actually sit and talk and listen to them. I love that! Sarah is stinking wonderful too! It has to be annoying at times when all's the girls want her to do is play Barbies forever, but she does it. With a smile too! We love you guys! Thank you soooooo much for coming and making the last two weeks so special. You're the best!!!

First day back to ballet & tap

Today the girls started their first day back to the 08/09 dance season. They were both very excited! Shayla started at 2 & Kaleigh at 5:30. Their dance company moved locations over the summer to a brand new studio literally down the street from our house. I couldn't be happier! It was absolutely gorgeous too! I am beyond excited and ready for another year of little ballerinas. Bring it!!!

First day of First Grade

Today was the day I have been dreading for 6 1/2 years...Kaleigh's first day of First Grade! She woke up very excited, got dressed in her uniform, ate her favorite breakfast, took pictures and said goodbye to everyone and off she went! She looked adorable if I may say. Scott went in to work extra early so he could come home to go with us and when he walked through the door she said, "Hi Dad! Do you like my new shoes? They're Italian!". We got a good laugh out of that. It was special to have Grandpa, Grandma and Aunt Sarah here for the big occasion. I managed to hold back the tears that have been welling up the past couple days. They were there, I just didn't let them fall! I was proud of myself. Now that I am facing my feelings I am balling like a baby. Darn it! My family has been laughing at my sadness over Kaleigh starting school for the past few days. I am excited for her, but I am nervous. I have worked so hard the last 6 1/2 years to make her kind, friendly, sweet, innocent and compassionate. The way I see it is now I don't have as much control. I pray that she doesn't get ruined! This is the first time my baby will be away from me ALL DAY! 8:22 - 3:30! Yikes. She won't even be here for lunch anymore. I know she will have a blast today and absolutely LOVE school. It will just take some getting used to for me and for the time being, my heart hurts!
