Christmas Day

Christmas Day was really special. Oddly enough we had to wake the girls up to open their presents! We did all our opening and got a lot of great stuff. Then we had a big and yummy breakfast.
*Kaleigh with her gifts*

*Shayla with hers...* *And little Peytie too!* *The girls and Corey all checkin' out their cool new stuff. It was a mess!**We got a TON of snow through the night so Scott and Mike had a ton of shoveling to do!* *The girls with their "I Spy" books Grandma Griffin made them*
*Our delicious dinner. We had turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, mac n cheese, yams, cream corn and rolls. It was the best!!!*

*Kaleigh read "Are You My Mother" to Grandpa and Grandma before bed. She is such a great reader now!**Shayla read her favorite, "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" to Nana and Sarah. She can read every word of it! She's amazing!*

It was a beautiful day!!!!! This was our 1st white Christmas because although we've lived here 2 years, we always went back to Cali for the holidays. Needless to say...we are completely sold!!!! There's absolutely nothing like it.

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve Sarah and I headed outside to make a snowman but decided to make snow forts instead. It was ALOT of hard work, but well worth it!

*Sarah built "Fort Griffin"* *And I built "Fort Biehn"**After that we all went sledding at the hill park down the street. Here's Sarah racin' down...* *And the pro's, Kaleigh and Shayla* *And Mikey and Corey too!* *Mom made dinner that night; her famous tilapia. It was delicious!* *Scott and Corey havin' some fun. Scott would KILL me if he knew I posted this picture. I think it's cute though!*

*The girls in their Christmas PJ's*
*Grandpa read them "The Night Before Christmas" before they headed to bed. It was a great day!*

Family in town...

On the 22nd, we had the privilege of having my Dad, Mom, sister Sarah, brother Mike, nephew Corey and Grandma Nana come stay with us. They were here from the 22nd until January 3rd. It was awesome!!! We had SOOO much fun with them and loved every second of it. The next few posts above are the highlights of the visit.....

*The Girls with Nana*

*On the 23rd we went to Temple Square to see the breathtaking lights. It was freezing and crowded, but fun. Suzie was able to join us too!*
*The Gang*

*After enjoying the lights, Suzie, Nana, Sarah and all kiddos headed home and we 5 stayed and had a very fancy dinner at "The Roof". It was AMAZING!!!! Thank you, Suz, for making that night possible. I love you!

Christmas Recital 2008

On the 18th it was the girls' Christmas Recital for dance. The looked absolutely breathtaking and did an AWESOME job! We were beyond proud of them. Shayla did a tap number to "Chicken Pox for Christmas", which was insanely cute, and Kaleigh did a ballet dance to "Silver Bells." She hit the moves better than anyone in her class. Although it was a hectic night, it was amazing! It's nights like these that make me sooooo happy I've got nothin' but Princesses!
* OUR LITTLE DANCERS*
KALEIGH WAS LOOKIN' WAY TOO OLD WITH MAKE-UP. (GORGEOUS THOUGH)

SHAYLA'S BLUE EYES WERE STUNNING! THE DRESS MADE THEM "POP".

SHE MELTS ME!!!

AND SO DOES SHE!

The Nutcracker

On the 17th Suzie and I went and saw Ballet West's "The Nutcracker". We also discovered an amazing Mexican restaurant downtown called "The Red Iguana". It was an absolutely fun night filled with lots of great food and TONS of laughter! I love this girl!!!

Catchin' up....

In early December Norm, Kris and kiddos came to visit us. We had a really good time! Unfortunately the day they got here Shayla came down with the stomach flu that very night. Poor thing! From that point on we all got it. It was TERRIBLE! We had a lot of fun with the Corona Biehn's and loved having them here. Thanks for coming guys!!! We took them to Park City to play in the snow.

Norm, Kris, Tayler, Ryan, Shelly and Bradin

As you can tell by their facial expressions, the kids were freezing and not happy after awhile.
Everybody enjoying some hot cocoa in Park City

Ryan, Tayler, Kris and Norm aboard the train at "This Is The Place". We even got a VIP tour!
Me, Kaleigh, Bradin, Shelly, Shayla, Peyton and Scott on the train as well.

Scott and I and Norm and Kris at the (way too expensive) "Tuscany" restaurant in Cottonwood Heights. We were able to sneak in a double date before they left, thanks to sweet Suzie for babysitting!

The kiddos having breakfast...

All in all we had a really great time, despite the surprise visit from the flu. We were very grateful they came and hope they'll come back soon! Love you guys!
