My biggest post EVER!

Just to warn you...this post is huge! I had a hard time narrowing down what I wanted to include. Anyways, for the 4th of July weekend we had the pleasure of going to my sister-in-laws (Megan) family cabins up in Meeker, Colorado. It was SO much fun and we are SO glad we went!!! They have 2 cabins that are both so beautiful. Here is one of them. The other is in pics below.. We saw the most beautiful scenery we have ever seen. It was like something in a movie!

Anyone who knows me knows I am not one for camping and being in the woods. I've never really experienced it. Let me tell you it was like a breath of fresh air! Literally!!!
One of Peyton's favorite past times was climbing up the stairs that led to Danny and Megan's room. She loved poking her head out once she reached the top and would yell, "Hi!".
The girls made a new best friend while there. Friends Tara and Darce's son, Chase. They were glued together the whole trip. They loved watching a few movies together!
Besides eating A TON (no exaggeration) of delicious food, we did a lot of super cool things. The highlight of the trip was definitely horseback riding. The girls even got a pony ride! Here's Shayla on her ride...
Peyton was in HEAVEN!
And so was Kaleigh!
We were lucky enough to have Suzie on the trip with us as well. It was great having her there! She has a fear of horses so she volunteered to stay behind and watch our kids so we could both go on the 2 hour horseback ride. It was priceless! Thanks so much Suz!
Here we are chillin. In this pic, from left...my brother Danny, Peyton and me, Darce (hiding in the background), my sister-in-law Megan, her dad Crea, Kaleigh and Shayla (in back), Meg's uncle Dan and Scotty.
Here is Scott on his horse. It's name was Ding. I think he'd make a really hot Cowboy! lol
Here's Meg and I. I'm so thankful to have her as my sister-in-law. She's a seriously cool chick and we get along great! Good job Danny! :)
Here's me on my horse. Her name was Twist. I LOVED her!
At the top of this mountain we stopped to look out. There is only one word to describe it. BREATH TAKING!!!
Here's my brother and I doing what Griffin's do best...goofing around! It was really priceless (and needed) for me to have this time with my brother. I love him!!!
Here's Danny and Scott coming down through the brush. It was sooo beautiful!
Scott and I cannot even describe how much we LOVED the ride. We had never done anything like that before. The horses were amazing, the company was SO fun and the scenery was jaw-dropping. I was choking back tears the entire ride. It was amazing!
Thank you Danny and Megan for setting up this ride for us! We're so glad we got to share that experience with you.
Uncle Danny took Kaleigh and Shayla on ATV rides, which they loved. I thought this pic of Shay and Dan was adorable! Could she be holding him any tighter? Ha!
Here's Scott and Peyton relaxing and enjoying the fresh air.
I love this picture of Axton and Peyton playing by the back door. They are loving cousins!
This picture is sweet. Peyton and Aunt Suzie have a special bond. They really love each other!
Here's Megan, her dad and Axton heading out for an ATV ride. Such a cute photo!
We went up a trail and got pretty dirty! Here's Suzie havin' fun...
The girls rode with me, which I loved! We were pretty muddy.
Peyton had the pleasure of riding with Scott. They got muddy too and somehow Peyton fell asleep! Poor Scott had to do the entire ride 1-handed.
This is what the girls looked like when we got back. Scott left to go on a long "guys-only" ride and I bathed the girls. I was glad he went. (And got FILTHY!!!)
That evening we went behind the cabin and shot some guns. I am NOT a gun person, but enjoyed it anyways. Thanks for teaching me Dan!
Scott looked like a little kid in a candy shop there. Between nature itself, horses, ATV's and shotguns, he was in HEAVEN and grinning from ear to ear the entire time. This was DEFINITELY right up his alley! It was cute!

I love this picture of my adorable little nephew, Axton. How CUTE is he?!
Here's a few people waiting for the fireworks show. From left, Megan, Suzie and Axton, a family friend, Meg's dad Crea, Meg's aunt Erin and Meg's mom Martha. Oh, and their family dog Rex. I fell in love with that dog and wanted to take him home SO bad!
Firework time!!!!!
Me and my honey!
The next day Suzie and I headed out on an ATV ride with Meg's parents and Aunt&Uncle and cousins. It was supposed to be a 2 1/2 hr ride, but turned out to last 6 hours! We experienced rain, hail and LOTS of huge rocks, rivers and streams. It was SO scary at points, but SO much fun! We were laughing throughout the whole day. And needless to say, we got FILTHY!
Here we are after the ride! The rain POURED on us the entire way back and cleaned us off quite a bit. It was NUTS!While we were on our near-death experience ATV ride (lol), Scott, Danny, Megan, Axton, the girls and Tara and boys went on a hike to Trapper Lake. Scott said it was a lot of fun and it was obviously GORGEOUS!
Scott and I learned many things from this trip. One was that our girls are little outdoorsy chicks. They LOVED being out in the country and getting dirty. In fact, they cried when we left. Here's our pretty little girls at the Lake. Good shot Daddy!

Another thing we learned was how to better prepare in the future. Not that we did bad or anything. And perhaps the BIGGEST lesson we learned was the it is not only OK, but GREAT, to step outside your comfort zone and do new things. We would never normally go somewhere for a few days where there would be people we don't know and things we don't normally do. It was so refreshing and FUN!!! Thank you Danny and Megan, and Crea and Martha, for inviting us! It was a blast!!!

We are SO GLAD YOU CAME! It was so fun to do all that with you, Scott, Suzie, and the girls! I don't know what you are talking about being more prepared - you guys packed 6 people, food, bedding, and clothes into your Yukon and I am so surprised it all fit! YOU AMAZE ME! I understand that it must have been hard to step outside your comfort zone and stay in a place that you've never seen with people you don't know. I'm so grateful to you for doing it because it was one of the most memorable trips that we've ever had - just because you guys were there!

My mom will be happy: you got a picture with her in it. You are the only one who did, lol.

I hope we can do more with you guys in the future as well. We love you and thanks again for coming!

(re:the pic: finally proof that I was there!) It was fun to have you all at the cabin. You are not prissy girls; you were all tough, fun and game. Not afraid to get a little muddy! Scott should be proud! Love you all- Martha
