Company Conference 2010

Every year Scott's company has a weekend-long Conference that the spouses are also invited to. Last year it was in Huntington Beach, CA. This year it was in Scottsdale, AZ. I had never been to Arizona so I was excited. I love the conferences cause it means 3 things: 1., ALONE time with Scott!!! 2., a look-into and appreciation for exactly what he does every day and 3., PAMPERING! His company is one of the best in the business. They make a lot of money and spend a lot too! :) Suzie offered to watch the girls for us again, bless her heart, so we left on Thursday, sad to leave them, but knowing they were in great hands. Here we are on the flight... The scenery was breathtaking! The snow covered mountains peeking through the clouds was incredible.

It was a sea of clouds and the moon was rad!
The brought us to the Scottsdale Resort, which was gorgeous! The bed was sooo comfy!
The room was beautiful too. This is only half of it.
They treated us to a very fancy prime rib dinner that night and gave us some "swag". Here's just a couple of the things. (A very nice embroidered jacket and camel back water bottles.)
Some of my swag...
We had to be at the opening meetings the next morning at 7am. I learned a lot and loved seeing, in detail, all the work that his company is doing. They presented Scott with this plaque, which was really nice.
Here is one of the lobbies...
And Mama calling to check on her babies. :)
They fed us a good lunch and then we were on to more meetings. I finally left at 2, but Scott had to stay till 5:30. This was the newspaper that was delivered to our room that day. I found it very ironic. The cover story read, "Army's suicide 'crisis' leads to action". Wow. Apparently it said the Army had 160 suicides last year ALONE. It broke my heart that my own brother was one of those. :_(
I had to go to a health screening and then I had a couple hours to myself. Anyone that knows me knows that I don't know how to just relax, so it was strange. Luckily we had a beautiful view out our window. :)
The scenery was gorgeous!
Once Scott got back we relaxed for a little bit and then headed down to the "Vegas" themed night. Dinner was OK and as usual, it was open bar. Not our thing. We had some fun before calling it quits. Here I am being drawn.
We played some arcade games.
Scott did some bungee-racing. SO funny!
I had to get a picture with this hideous statue by our room. Don't worry...my drink in hand is just a Dr.Pepper. :)
Every year we get one of these done. Here's 2010's. Looks nothing like me, but he nailed Scott.
Pathetically we were back up in our room at 7:30. We don't drink OR gamble which was the theme of the night so we called the girls and had our own kinda fun instead! ;)
The next morning (Saturday) Scott was at meetings at 6:30 am and I left to the Spousal Event at 9. This year his company rented out the entire Build A Bear Workshop for us wives. We got to make animals for children in need. I decided to make an Army Monkey for a child in the Oncology department at Phoenix Children's Hospital. Then we wrote letters of appreciation to the troops and included 300 minute calling cards for them . It was perfect and tear jerking.
They then took us (100's of wives) into a huge tent out back that was beautifully decorated like a wedding reception. We enjoyed a DELICIOUS catered lunch and the company presented us with "small tokens of appreciation" for supporting our hard working husbands. I love that little turquoise box and knew what it was.
They gave us silver Tiffany & Co. bracelets this year. Sweet! I love it.
They took us back to the resort where I had a couple hours until Scott was done with his meetings. I did something I've never done before. I relaxed! I layed in bed and watched a movie. Ahhh....
Once Scott got back we layed around for a bit before getting dressed up for the night. They had a delicious candle light dinner and a Masquerade Ball.
The masks were beautiful and they gave us extra for the girls. We brought home 8! The night was such a blast! We hung out with friends, danced and went to some shows. We laughed our butts off that night!
The entire resort had these GORGEOUS chandeliers that I couldn't take my eyes off of.
One of the shows we went to was a stand up comedian. We had seen him on Jay Leno a few times. He was hilarious!!!
They also brought in a professional hypnotist. It was rad. He brought about 30 people up to be hypnotized. Scott was one of them. (Third from the left on the stage) Scott couldn't be put under, but many could. It was too funny!
We got back to our room at 11 and decided to order pizza. It was yummy! We had fun and watched a movie. The whole night was PERFECT!
The next morning we were on our plane and headed home. Goodbye AZ!
Again we enjoyed beautiful views from the sky. Here's the Grand Canyon.
It was a perfect weekend! I am so thankful to be married to Scott. I just can't get enough of him. He is such a hard worker! People have NO idea. I appreciate his strong work ethic and all he does for me and the girls.

More than ever, I am thankful that he not only has a job, but a really good job. His company is demanding, but great. I appreciate the things they do for us. We were very excited to get back to the girls. We missed them like crazy! We are SO grateful to Suzie for watching the girls for us. She did and amazing job caring for them and the house. We knew they were in the best hands. We love her and the girls LOVE her like crazy! They keep telling me that they miss her. :) THANK YOU SUZIE!!!!!!!!! ♥

Oh man, I'm so glad you got to get away together and have a good time. It makes it a lot more fun when you are on the company's tab too! I'm sure it was hard to leave the girls but not so hard to leave them with Suzie. You guys deserved a little break!

You've had a BUSY year for sure. I cant believe so much has happened. I can't imagine how painful your wounds must be. You've been really strong, though. <3
