On the same day as Shay started preschool, Scott took the girls out on a date that night. As they were playing at a play center Shayla slipped on a slide and landed on her pinkie and it snapped and broke. She screamed and cried for 45 minutes straight and then never cried again. Once Scott got home with them I rushed her to the ER and they took X-Rays. They confirmed that not only did she break it, but she broke it bad. Right on the growth plate! They splinted it and sent us to an Pediatric Orthopedic Hand Specialist. Yikes. She was SO tough!!!
It was hard to see my baby in pain.
Aunt Suzie rushed over to the hospital to be with us. So sweet!
Even though Shay was in pain she kept smiling. I was so proud of her!
The hand specialist decided to keep it splinted for 2 weeks to see if the body will naturally heal itself. We go in Monday for more x-rays to see if all is well. Please keep your fingers crossed for her!
