February Happenings, part 2

February was Shayla's turn to go on a daughter date with us. She's so stinking CUTE and we love her to pieces!

She chose Cafe Rio for dinner which made us very happy. :)
Then she wanted to head to The Incredible Pizza Company for some fun. I love this girl!
We raced cars, and won. She grinned from ear to ear the whole time!
We also zoomed around on the bumper cars. She's a feisty little thing.
We had a great time with her and ended the night with slushies. We are so grateful to have Shay in our lives. She is a blessing and a half. Here's Shay with Daddy...♥
The girls and I went to the Zoo one day. We hadn't been there in a while so it was nice to go back. The girls had a blast! Peyton seemed to be scared of everything and made me carry her the whole time. (of coarse) Good thing my hands were empty. Can you feel that heavy sarcasm? :)
Kaleigh and Shayla love peacocks!
When we went to see the gorillas and Orangutans, this one came right up to the window and starred at Peyton. It was so CUTE, but frightened us a little. If we walked away, it got up and followed us. Weird, huh?
Now anyone who knows Peyton knows she's a HUGE fan of tigers, so this was by far the highlight of her day. The tigers were GORGEOUS!
Check out the drama....lol!
We ended the day with stuffed animals from the gift shop.
And since I didn't get a doll, the cops were nice enough to leave me a parking ticket for a souvenir. So sweet!
Although I hate having Scott gone so much to go to school at night, it allows me some precious alone time with my girls. One of the things we love doing is playing beauty shop. The girls love doing hair!
Here's Kaleigh's 'do on Shayla...
And Shayla's 'do on Kaleigh..
And Peyton's 'do on me... (lol)
On the 24th Scott and I headed to Tuscon, AZ for a weekend for work. This is the view off our balcony. We stayed at the Starr Resort and it was AMAZING!!!
Our room was super nice and we had a breathtaking view of the mountains and the pool. The weather was so warm. Coming from a chilly and snowy Utah...it was JUST what we needed!
Scott soaked up some photo therapy before heading to all-day meetings. :)
I had meetings to attend as well that kept me busy, but I had a 3 hour break one day so I did what I love best. I slapped on my bikini, plugged in my IPOD and layed out on the balcony! It was perfect!!!! I must have gotten chilled cause I grabbed a blanket. Scott got back to the room that evening to find me asleep outside and snapped this pic. I want to go back to this moment right about now! lol
We had a western-themed dinner/party one night that was actually extremely fun. Love me some cowboys!
A bunch of Scott's buddies came running over to us at one point to tell us that Scott had won one of the grand prizes. He got an IPOD Touch. Sweet! We rode a mechanical bull, did gun draws, danced, ate delicious food and a whole bunch more. It was a really fun night!
Scott's company paid for us to eat breakfast at a really ritzy restaurant the morning we left. We felt special! The food was actually some of the best I've ever had.
I have never been around a real cactus before so I had to get a picture with one before we headed to the airport. They are a lot prettier than I expected.
Here's the front of the resort as we were driving away. We had a great time together and enjoyed our alone time, as little as it was. On our 2nd night there we got a call letting us know that Dad had to be taken into the hospital. It put a huge damper on things, of coarse, but we tried to have fun anyways. We're so thankful to Kyle and Sarah and especially Suzie who stayed with the girls and took great care of them so we could go. Thank you soooo much!!! ♥
