I am so embarrassed with how bad of a slacker I've become with my blog! Geez! Well, in a effort to change that i am picking up where I left off. Since I have so much to catch up on I am only going to highlight the past 6 months. Here's May's. Enjoy!
We had lots of bonfires. Here's a fave with Suz..
We love our pit!!!
My friend organizes and runs a cycling event each year and Suzie and I were some of her volunteers. We had SO much fun running things and cheering people on. We loved our cute "Mama Bear" shirts. Suzie is such a sweetheart to help out when there's no obligation to. Have I mentioned that I adore her?! ;)

May 8th was Mother's Day and Scott and the girls did a fantastic job of making it a great one. They bought me a beautiful new dress and shoes and got me my new favorite perfume. I love my little family!

For dinner we had Mom and Nana over and Scott and I made grilled chicken, chinese chicken salad, homemade mac n cheese and watermelon. It was deelish!

I absolutely love my Mama and Nana! I feel so privileged to have these incredible women in my life and have been able to share that special day with them.

On May 10th I was able to chaperon Shayla's class on a field trip to the zoo. We had so much fun!

We saw lots of beautiful animals, including this gorgeous tiger.

Here's sweet Shayla and her friend. Love that girl!

Of course the month included lots of trips to see Dad at the rehab center. There was never a dull moment! lol Here's Dad playing peekaboo in his lift. :)

What an absolutely amazing guy!

The girls and I never missed an opportunity to make homemade ice cream, which we brought to Dad often. Our new favorite is peach!

I finally accomplished a goal after having it on a list for 10 years! I organized my spice cabinet!!! yayayayayayayay

On May 18th I had oral surgery. I had a sinus lift, bone grafting and an implant. Like a moron I chose to endure the surgery with no anesthesia. BAD BAD BAD idea! It was soooo beyond horrible. I almost passed out at one point. I should have listened to the surgeon who heavily advised against it but I was only thinking about cost. Dumb! I don't recommend having your face and jaw bone drilled through without going under. This is a lovely shot, I know. :)

Naturally, the right side of my face swelled up like a pig. I couldn't eat for days and I couldn't take the pain meds they kept giving me because they made me throw up. All in all it was a nasty experience that makes me so glad it's over. Here's my swollen cheek after a few days. Ha!

On May 24th Suzie treated Scott and I to the U2 concert! IT WAS AMAAAAAAZING! The best part? We had nose bleed seats and they upgraded us for free to the VIP section! Talk about LUCKY. We were stoked. We had a great view of the stage! (which was incredible)

I love these two!!!!

Oh, and did I mention that THE FRAY opened for them? Yep, they sure did! I LOVE them!

Me and my man!

It got cold at the end of the night. The concert was unbelievably good. Out of all the concerts we've been to, which are many, this was by far the best. Thanks so much Suz for taking us. I love you bestie!

On May 26th I had a few friends over for a bday dinner for Scott. I made pork roast, homemade mashed potatoes, glazed carrots and strawberries and dip. Yummo!

We had a great time and for dessert I made Scott's favorite: brownie sundaes. :)

On May 28th I surprised Scott with a weekend trip to Moab for his birthday. It was a ton of work, but was so worth it! We hit some popular places while in Moab. He was so surprised and it was a much needed break for him with all his work and schooling responsibilitiesl.

After lounging at our hotel for a while we headed straight for Arches National Park. Holy cow it's GORGEOUS there! It's definitely a place to visit before you die.

Kaleigh and Shayla had a blast hiking around and climbing rocks. Peyton, on the other hand, hated it. No surprise there, right? lol. My babies are SO cute! ;)

Luckily our friends let us borrow their carrier cause Peyton was a total diva the whole time and refused to walk. That was our saving grace! Scott got a good workout hiking around with her.

Here's Scott and the girls on one of our hikes. It is so gorgeous there!

After hiking for a few hours we headed back to the hotel to swim for a while.

♥

I brought a cooler of food, my steamer and my crock pot (that I can't live without) and it came in handy the whole time. One of the things I hate about vacation is all the eating out so I found away around it. It was nice to have homemade food while vacationing. On this particular night I made BBQ pulled chicken, steamed rice and rolls. The people in the room next to us kept commenting on how we were torturing them with all the smells of yummy food. Ha!

The next day was the 29th...Scott's official Birthday! He turned 34. We had breakfast and he opened some of his presents. Then we headed out to hike some more!

We hiked many of the arches but our favorite, by far, was this one...Double Arch. It was breathtaking!

I hiked to the top of this one. It was really scary cause the wind was blowing REALLY hard, but I couldn't resist! :)

Scott hiked to the top of this huge cave. This picture does no justice to how high and steep it was. I panicked the whole time and it didn't help that everyone around me kept saying, "I hope you have life insurance on your husband!". Agh!

This vacay was right up Kaleigh and Shayla's alley. They loved all the terrain and caves. They are my kind of gals!

I loved this moment. Shayla wanted to take a minute to soak up the sun, sky and wind so she layed down on a huge rock. What a knucklehead!

Me, Peyton and the birthday boy!

This is pefection. (To me, at least.)I love these 4 with all my heart!

We spent all day hiking and then we went back to the hotel to shower and change. I made reservations at a restaraunt called Zax's for Scott's bday dinner. It was SO dang good! We had a beautiful evening.

After dinner we headed back to soak in the hot tub. That was a perfect way to end a day full of hiking.

♥

Then we went back to our room for cupcakes that I had made and brought. Scott said it was a perfect birthday and his favorite one yet. Yeah...success! Those words were a song to my ears. He is such a great man, husband and father and he deserves the best. Happy 34th Scotty!!!

And there you have my favorite parts of May! :)
