Father's Day 2010

This Father's Day was set-up to be a great one. I was so happy to have my dad here! The day started out fine with a yummy breakfast and lots of love for these two.... I must say though; it didn't last. I won't go into detail. Considering how many people have called, sent emails and inboxes and texts, most of you know the situation. Unfortunately. It was a horrible Father's Day. I felt so sad for Scott and Dad. I'll be doing a re-do this weekend for Scott. Thank goodness! I tried my hardest to make the best of the situation anyways. Per Dad's request, I made Sloppy Joe's for lunch. He was a happy camper! :)

Scott got some cool gifts from the girls and I. The best was a magazine Kaleigh made for Scott at school. It was hilarious!

Fortunately Sarah and Kyle came over and the girls wasted no time inviting her to play dress-up. She's awesome!

Dinner was delicious! We bbq'd sausages and had homemade mashed potatoes and homemade creamed corn with it. Mmmm! I love my parents so much! They are the best!

I was so happy to have Sarah and Kyle here too!

I felt so blessed to have such an amazing hubby that day. I kept crying to Scott and saying, "I am SO sorry your day has been ruined", and all he would say is, "Michelle, don't worry about it. Crap happens. I'm fine!" What a stud.

I am so thankful for Scott and my Dad. They are such amazing men and father's!

Celebrity Sighting!

So Suzie and I were at the Gateway recently with the girls. We were walking, talking and minding our own business when..... David freaking Cook went walking by!!! He was walking with his drummer. (that's him in all black on the right)

I recognized him right as he walked past us and I was speechless. I LOVE David Cook! Suzie and I didn't know what to do. I wanted a picture with him badly but didn't want to seem like a pathetic fan. I ran after him, camera in hand, and decided to not precede. Yes, I regret it.

Later we discovered that he was in town and performing that night after the Real Salt Lake game. It was a pretty cool experience!

To the Man I Love...

How lucky am I? I'm in love with my best friend, and that's about as lucky in love as anyone could be. Our love is even sweeter because of the trust and understanding that come from our friendship. How thankful am I? I'll never find the right words for saying how grateful I am for all that Scott gives me, for sharing this life and this love with me. How happy am I? Completely! From all the big milestones we share to all the little, everyday moments. He makes it easy to be happy. And honestly, there's NO ONE I'd rather go through life with than Scott!

Our 10 Year Anniversary!!!

June 17th was our 10 year anniversary! My how time flies. That day was also our 11 1/2 year dating anniversary. Suz was sweet enough to watch the girls while we went to Madeline's for dinner. Thanks Suz! The next day we went to Lagoon for the day. Sarah was kind enough to watch the girls. All day. They were in heaven. Thanks Sarah bear!

We had a great day. Thanks to all who made it possible. Due to scheduling conflicts we weren't able to go on the trip we wanted to, so next year we will make it up! Kauai here we come!!! (in a year) :)

The Utah Reception...

June 12th was Sarah and Kyle's Utah reception. His Mom and sister did a great job! Dad and Mom were able to come up, although Dad was feeling pretty miserable. I was so happy to have them here anyways.

A Little Bit of This and That...

Here's some random moments. Kaleigh loves to dress as an assassin. Here she is in the back yard... lol. Shayla loves to tap dance in the back yard.

She also loves to frequently put TONS of stuff laid out all over the front room floor. She says they're "for sale" in her "store". Clean up sucks!

And I constantly find pictures on my camera of her that she's taken at different times.

I found a store that I'm in love with. It's called Winco and it's in Murray. They send great coupons and you get a bunch of stuff free. All of this only cost me $14! SCORE!

The girls favorite thing to do at the park? Bury Peyton. Ugh.

Summer means LOTS of sitting on the porch eating ice cream. Sweet!

The weather here in Utah is nothing short of breathtaking! I absolutely love it. Here's one of many recent rainbows behind our house.

We had a BBQ with lots of friends lately. All us girls were sitting around talking when we noticed all our men were gone. Where'd they go? Playing football, of coarse. I love that guys still play no matter how old they get! :)

My nephew, Gabe, was blessed recently. We were happy to be there. Check out this adorable shot of he and Kaleigh. His smile is killer!

We had the most amazing storm recently. The clouds were unbelievable and there was tons of thunder, lightning and hail. It was GORGEOUS!

This picture doesn't do justice, but the sky looked like something out of a movie. We were loving it!

Memorial Day 2010

This past Memorial Day was a beautiful one. Scott and I are very patriotic people and felt the need to really teach the girls about the sacrifices that are made by the men and women of the armed forces. We are so thankful for the lives that have been lost defending our country and freedoms. We are so thankful for those that are willing to serve. They are brave and wonderful. All 4 of our Grandpas served in WW2 and Scott's Dad served during the Vietnam War. We are truly grateful to them!
Memorial Day morning we headed to the cemetery for a service honoring the fallen.
They read poetry, sang, read names of local fallen soldiers and did the gun salute. It was beautiful and tearful.

The entire cemetery was covered in American flags. I wish I could have captured the whole thing, but you get the idea. It was breathtaking! We got the opportunity to shake the hands of veterans and active service men. I felt honored and couldn't even speak. I just cried.
