Dance your pants off

Last night was the girls' Spring Dance Recital. It was held at the Sandy Amphitheatre. It was adorable!!! It was stinkin' long(3 1/2 hours) and packed with hundreds of people, but it was an awesome experience! The girls performed two performances each. Kaleigh did a tap dance to "Good Ship Lollipop" and a ballet dance to "Sugar Pie Honey bunch". Shayla did a tap dance to "Boogie Woogie Jitterbug" and a ballet dance to "My Girl". They both did an incredible job and made us really proud. Neither of them seemed to mind the fact that they were on stage performing in front of hundreds of people. They both thrived on performing. Scott was a trooper because he had to handle Peyton the whole time by himself. To make matters worse, she is very sick (and fussy) with a cold. She did great though! I, on the other hand, got the privilege to be tortured the whole time! Like an idiot I volunteered to be a "mom helper" for Shayla's class. I, along with my friend Mindy, were in charge of keeping 13 three and four year olds happy and in their assigned seats. We were also in charge of not losing them, taking them to the bathroom, getting them to the stage on time, etc, etc. Needless to say, Mindy and I were at our wits end by the end of the night! It was hilarious though. It was a great opportunity because it made me realize how much more mature Shayla is than kids her age. People always tell me it, but now I see it for myself. They did great, they looked beautiful and they danced their pants off!

Okay, how adorable are they! I remember tapping to "Good Ship Lollypop" when I was little. I bet they were a riot.
